David B. Anthony
Co-Managing Partner
David is a partner in Berger McDermott’s Corporate and Commercial Litigation group, where he represents clients across Delaware’s state and federal courts in high-stakes corporate and commercial disputes. A trusted advisor and steadfast advocate, he guides clients through every phase of a dispute—from early counseling aimed at avoiding litigation and reaching amicable resolutions, to strategic, determined representation during and after litigation. His practice spans corporate and alternative entity governance disputes, business divorces, complex contractual conflicts, business torts, and real estate litigation. He also advises employers on restrictive covenants, trade secret protection, EEO compliance, and wage and hour matters.
Beyond his commercial practice, David is committed to public service and maintains a robust pro bono practice rooted in the Delaware community. He was a founding member of the Veterans Advisory Council, an organization that provided critical financial and supportive services to veterans receiving care at the Wilmington VA Medical Center. He represents local and national nonprofit organizations dedicated to assisting people confronting addiction, homelessness, and developmental challenges. David also serves as a guardian ad litem for children in the foster care system, ensuring that some of Delaware’s most vulnerable residents have a voice in the proceedings that shape their futures.
Prior to joining Berger McDermott, David was an associate at Ballard Spahr LLP. He served as law clerk to the Honorable Richard R. Cooch, Resident Judge of the Superior Court of Delaware, and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Thomas L. Ambro of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. While in law school, David served on the editorial board of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. Before law school, he served in the United States Army and worked as a counselor for dependent children.
